Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick

I have pretty much been lusting after the Too Faced Melted Lipsticks since I first set eyes on them in Ulta, but figured since they're part of the permanent collection there was no rush to buy them all, right? WRONG. I made the mistake of purchasing just one of them yesterday and now I need all of them in my life immediately, if not sooner.

I picked up Melted Peony, but there are also five other shades: Melted Nude, Melted Coral, Melted Fuchsia, Melted Violet, & Melted Ruby.

"Get the staying power of a stain, the intense color of a liquid lipstick and the high shine of a gloss in one long-wear formula. Using exclusive technology to keep cauldrons of molten lipsticks liquid and creamy, Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick comfortably coats lips in bursts of intense, high-impact, super rich, saturated color that lasts for hours."-Toofaced.com

  • "Too Faced Co-Founder and Creative Director Jerrod Blandino had never seen lipstick more beautiful, intense, rich and glossy than when it’s in its melted form in the cosmetic labs. With this inspiration, we created a lipstick liquified so it doesn’t lose its pigment or shine while keeping a comfortable, flexible and cushiony wear." -Toofaced.com

These are really decently sized, considering you only need a very small amount per application! I definitely see myself using this color a lot since it's PERFECT for Spring/Summer, but I bet I'll still never even make a dent in it...especially if I cave & purchase the other five shades.

The applicator is what makes these truly fabulous. They all have an attached precision tip applicator for clean, effortless application. No brush, no liner, no problem! Perfect for on the go.

(Note: You have no idea how much I wanted to put this on yesterday the minute I left the store. But, as a blogger, it's always pictures first!)

Here's me attempting to capture the lipstick coming out of the tube. As I mentioned earlier, you only need a tiny bit, so make sure you don't squeeze too hard, especially at first.

This was supposed to be a swatch in the sunlight, but it's pretty overcast today!

Swatch with flash.

Applied! The texture of this is sort of hard to describe. It's not super drying (looking at you, Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick!) but it's not sticky like a gloss. It's more like the texture of the Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquers, which I also adore.

Has anyone else purchased these? Do you love them as much as I do? :)

Allure Summer Beauty Box - On Sale April 29th, 2014!

I've heard about how amazing the Allure Beauty Boxes are, but they sell out CRAZY quick and I always seem to miss them! This time, I'm setting an alarm! :)

Here's what's included in the Summer edition of the box, going on sale Tuesday!

It is, admittedly, pretty heavy on hair products but I happen to love hair products so this is perfect for me!

Are any of you going to try to snag one of these? What are you most excited about?

Studio Gear Hydrating CC Cream (+discount code!)

So, if you've been reading my blog for a while you already know I'm really not a fan of all the BB/CC/DD/ZZ creams on the market. I just find that the colors always seem a little off and end up going back to my regular foundation. But they're all the rage, so I'm always on the hunt to find one that works for me!

Studio Gear was kind enough to provide me with their Hydrating CC Cream in 'Linen' to review. Admittedly, I was hesitant at first, but guys--this stuff is awesome!

First, a little background on Studio Gear:

"Founded by industry veterans Steve Rohr and John Avolio, Studio Gear Cosmetics is a prestigous cosmetics brand featuring a full collection of professional makeup brushes, revolutionalizing complexion formulas, and a wide selection of color products for the eyes, cheeks, and lips. Since 1996, Studio Gear has been on set at hundreds of professional photo shoots, in the beauty departments of Bloomingdales, Macy's, Dillard's, HSN and ULTA, and also in the everyday woman's makeup bag. This is a line created true to the concept that every woman deserves professional, high quality cosmetics at a reasonable price." -via Brandbacker.com

Some general information on the product from Studio Gear's website:
Hydrating CC Cream transforms and enhances your complexion in an incredibly light, smooth formula. This foundation simultaneously fights aging, retains moisture, and covers and treats blemishes with a non-oily, perfectly radiant finish.
Key Benefits:
  • Protects:  SPF 20 protects the skin, while Hydra-Extend technology provides moisture for up to 72 hours.
  • Perfects:  Enjoy natural looking coverage while micro-encapsulated pigments perfects and fade dark spots and acne scarring.
  • Corrects:  Anti-aging and collagen building ingredients help minimize fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Hydrates:  Hydra-Extend technology provides up to 72 hours of continuous hydration.
  • Conceals:  Micro encapsulated pigments deliver a fresh dose of color that adapts to your own skin tone, creating the most natural looking coverage.
  • Smoothes:  Skin nourishing ingredients help to correct and maintain youthful complexion.

Studio Gear Hydrating CC Cream:

There are three shades of this CC cream: Linen, Natural, & Wheat. I chose Linen since I usually use an 'Ivory' foundation.

The color is kind of scary when it first comes out of the tube. It's sort of gray-ish!

Once you start blending it goes from gray to...orange! AH! I had a small heart attack at first but...wait for it...

It blends to a perfect finish! AMAZING. It does still look a tiny bit yellow in this photo, but after a few minutes you could hardly even see it. Very, very impressive. It definitely evens out the overall look of my skin and IS very hydrating. If you want a nice dewy look, I'd recommend wearing this on it's own. If you want a more matte look, put a bit of finishing powder over the top & you're all set!

Here's my face of the day using Studio Gear's Hydrating CC Cream:

Super lightweight but has fantastic coverage! Moisturizing but definitely not greasy. And, of course, the color matches my skin almost perfectly.

theBalm MANIZERS

My first Birchbox ever contained an adorable tiny sample of theBalm's Mary-Lou Manizer. I fell in love with it & used it almost every single day until I finally hit the end of the pan. Luckily, theBalm runs 50% off sales fairly frequently so I picked up a full size of it along with the other 'manizers,' Betty-Lou & Cindy-Lou!

How adorable is the packaging? One of the main reasons I LOVE theBalm's products!

Here's Mary-Lou. A gorgeous pale gold powder that can be used as a shadow, highlighter, or shimmer.

Betty-Lou is a bronzer that can also be used as a shadow.

Cindy-Lou (the newest addition!) is a pale peach powder that can be used as a shadow, highlighter, or shimmer.

Swatches, top to bottom: Betty, Cindy, & Mary

I would definitely recommend picking one, if not all, of these up as soon as you possibly can! They're all SO pretty & so versatile! I use a combination of Cindy-Lou & Betty-Lou on my cheeks and Mary-Lou on my eyes.
